Hi, everybody! Yes, summertime is a busy time for moms with kids home. I do hope the forum will pick back up some now that school is back in session. I don't know what causes a forum to die, but I hope we will all check in a little more often, and keep in touch.
I bought at new budgie today. I tried to choose an adult bird, as Clausy needs a mate/companion of his own, and he's got to be about 4 years old. I'm sure my new girl is younger than that, having come from Petco, but she is large and appears to be an adult. I made a separate post with her picture. She is less bright than the picture appears, no nearly as bright as Noel was, but very, very pretty. Her name is Sugarplum.

Hi Feathered-family! I am back from Alabama, having cared for my parents while my mom had major back surgery. She is doing very well with her recovery, for which I am very thankful. It was so hard leaving them, my dad had big crocodile tears in his eyes at the airport. California is a long way from Alabama. I really missed Faith's birds while I was gone, I miss their singing and playing. I didn't realize how quiet a house can be without birds. My mom has ducks that she adores, they live on the pond in their backyard. My dad is in love with the hummingbirds that feed on his porch - I guess I come from bird-loving stock. :-) All is well here, it's good to see some posting going on! Hope we get more chatty soon, it's a joy to have friends from different places to chat with.

Cyndi, so glad you were able to care for your parents for a while, and that your mom is doing well. I understand about living so far away from loved ones. My parents in Michigan are a long ways from Oklahoma, too.
