So as mentioned in one of my earlier posts, I did get a Cockatiel magazine, and the stuff I have to say about that will be in my next post because I'm so eager to post this to you first: The place where I got Lucy has new baby 'tiels!!!!! AND theres 1 or 2 that caught my eye, and if they're males I MAY be interested in one.... look at this picture!

Here is a picture of the magazine I was mentioning: And the first page: The reason I'm interested in the babies here, is this picture: (I've never seen a black 'tiel before) And I believe there are 2 in the picture above that will grow up to look like this, am I correct? And also one that will potentially look like this:

Pammy, top center looks like cinnamon pied to me aka mistletoe! Or is mistletoe not cinnamon?

Yeah, that one does look most like Mistletoe, so it's not surprising I like it best. Mary says Mistletoe is not a cinnamon after all. Her babies are normal pieds, with a darker gray.

When we will see a new picture of mistletoe? And when will you know genders? Ugh I wish the store would work something out for me to find the gender for a male tiel

I don't know! I'm aching for a new picture myself. It's not like Mary to take so long updating me. I hope all is well on her end. I'm going to pester her about another picture right now....
I'm hoping it won't be that much longer on genders. The plan is to wait for the obvious alpha male to emerge, and once it does, then I will choose from the other two which one I want Mary to have DNA tested. If that one is also a boy, then she will DNA the third baby. I will pay for one DNA test and Mary will pay for the other.
I'm surprised your pet store gets away with charging $40 for the DNA test when the going rate is half that.

Yay let us know about baby Mistletoe I hope everything is okay too. I'm sure if something did happen (god forbid) that she would have notified you. Maybe she's just busy with other things like all of us on here have been And I hope you find your baby girl! I really do hope it all works out. That the first one you like by appearance is a girl! It's great she's allowing you to only pay for one test. As far as the bird store goes, yes a lot of their things are over-priced. I feel everything is except the birds. Lucy was $150 and I believe that's average for a tiel

I believe it's average for a pet store's price, but high for a breeder. My Petco has a price tag of $139.99 on their cockatiels. My breeder is going to charge me $75 for Mistletoe.
Thank you!! I hope my first choice by picture appearance is a girl, too. Right now I am leaning toward the baby of the family because it's so very cute and because it has lots of yellow. I wish I could go by personality and connection with me during our meeting, but they're at least 3 hours away, maybe more, and I won't be able to make more than the one trip. The only way I will decide to go that route would be if I change my mind about caring about gender. Right now, my heart is set on a little girl.

I hope she sends you a picture soon! I really want a better way to get a boy from the store! I'm not going to pay $40 per bird until I get it right :/ but i LOVE the black. Never seen it before. They're probably charging $200 or something insane!

I personally love that white face albino or whatever the mutation is. I reaaaaaaaaaally love all white.
It seems like Miss Lisa is hinting she sees a male cockatiel in her future?

There is a white baby in this clutch I think is cute too. The one with the grey wings though, not the albino

As far as I know, black tiels aren't a thing. I'm not sure what's going on with the birdie baby in these photos. I have seen some very dark grays and almost chocolate browns that become lighter as the bird grows up, but never an adult anywhere close to that dark.
