We are drawing mighty short on time for hand making a whole lot of gifts. I also love to make personal gifts, but have many times fallen into the trap of biting off more than I can chew, and turning a pleasurable hobby into a chore with a deadline. I refuse to do that to myself this year. My new motto: simplify! My new mantra: Christmas is about peace and joy, not driving myself crazy. I hope I can live up to it!

Lisa, there are tons of videos on youtube for cute DIY gifts. If you aren't interested in learning to knit or crochet, there are tons of adorable gifts you can make by cutting felt and gluing or sewing them together. Check out how cute these are!

I just want to say thanks again Sarah! I'm going to get a set of tea towels, make flat birds like that and sew them on the bottom part of each! My mother in law and mom will both appreciate the hand made uniqueness as well as being able to use them everyday.
Have any other ideas? I'm going Pinterest crazy right now haha.

I've also seen other ideas for homemade gifts: -peppermint sugar scrub -mod podge coasters (which my mom would love) -homemade hand print ornaments (cute for kids) -spa kits (can use nail stuff + facial mask in cute wrapping) -jar with all dry ingredients to make cookies, just write what they need to add and directions to bake! My grandma did this one year with oatmeal cookies and they were amazing.

I will definitely do that! I have a board with activities I can do with Sophia when she's older, and a bunch of stuff I can do to add cuteness to my home. I haven't checked Pinterest for bird toys! What was I thinking.
For Halloween I got all the pumpkin carving stencils for free on Pinterest and they were so adorable!

I just figured out another easy and unique gift Make little bags with the dry ingredients and with directions on how to make a brownie in a cup! 1/4 cup flour (50 g) 1/4 cup sugar (70 g) 2 Tbsp (13 g) cocoa (natural, unsweetened) Pinch of salt 1/4 cup water (60 ml) 2 Tbsp canola oil or vegetable oil (NOT extra virgin olive oil, it's too strongly flavored) Add ice cream or whipped cream! (Optional ) All they need is to add the water and oil and nuke their brownie in a mug for about one minute (or until brownie is done. Some microwaves take a half minute more to bake) This is a cheap yet thoughtful and unique gift for friends or people you know but aren't close enough to spend mucho dinero on.

I decided to do some DIY. I'm in the process of making wine charms for my boyfriends parents. They're coming out so well and they're very easy to make!
