My husband and I used to have a young female Indian Ringneck named Birdie. We rescued her (and when I say rescue, I mean we found her outside in 100+ degree weather.) She came with a LOT of behavioral problems. We took her to the vet, other than REALLY below weight, she was otherwise healthy. We had her for about a year, and unfortunately we had to rehome her because I was about to have my daughter and Birdie's constant loud screaming just wouldn't have fit into our family at the time. We found a couple that had more experience than Ringnecks and owned a green Indian Ringneck as well. Birdie hated me from day one, but adored my husband. She was beautiful but man was she deadly---going out of her way to bite me when she was out of her cage (AND I'm the one who fed/watered her and cleaned her cage!)

The breeder I got Pepper from owns a Blue Indian Ringneck, and he talks a LOT but she said he doesn't like being handled a lot. That bird offers me a beer every time I come in..."Wanna beer?" Hahahah

I believe she was a Lutino or however you put it. She wouldn't have gotten the ring around her neck like males do and I don't remember if she had red eyes or not now that I think about it.

Indian Ringnecks are complicated little birds. If you raise them right, and are kind and patient all the time, they make the sweetest birds in the world. They have good speaking ability and are absolutely beautiful and a little unusual in appearance.
However, they are prone to particularly appalling behavioral problems. They get angrier and hold longer grudges than any other parrot breed I have every worked with. They can become very aggressive and mean, but I wouldn't exactly say it is in their nature. The problem comes when they are neglected, go through a bad experience like being lot outside in summer heat, or if the owner starts to lose his or her patience ect. Ringnecks are for even tempered, affectionate owners who can set up a good solid structure of life with the bird. A gentle yet firm hand. They are also by far the hardest species to rescue.

Hahaba emily, we all are babe's till the end so trust me when I tell you it sneaks up on you. The day will come when you have to reconcile the babe within with the face in the mirror. Most of us I believe are forever young, it is that stnkin' aging body that betrays us.

Very true! Fortunately every woman in my family has aged very slowly so I suppose I have that going for me. I also don't smoke or drink so that will keep unwanted wrinkles away. I don't mind smile wrinkles thought it shows a happy life
