Wow she is so calm! Pepper freaked out when I turned it on. For now I just make a run with her wrapped loosely on a blanket to the heated room!

I haven't tried any form of bathing or misting for Mistletoe yet. What if he hates it? He loves me so much, and I'm afraid of messing up a great thing.

Maybe bring him in the shower and let him perch at the top to see what it's all about. If you make a big deal and act like it's the coolest thing since millet, he may want to splash!

I'm afraid his clumsy self would fall off from that high up.

Put a wash cloth on your shoulder and let him perch there? Or a clothes hanger somewhere he can swing?
I have this thing that hangs on my shower where I can put shampoo or whatever I want. I place a damp wash cloth over part of it to form a sort of canopy/hammock and let Pepper sit in that. She gets the steam, I don't have to worry about her stumbling and I get to watch her right in front of me. Take a look around and I'm sure you'll come up with a fall proof plan for him!

Hehe roxhum, that made me laugh! Thanks everyone Pammy - i never brought Lucy into the shower. What I did was one day just brought her into the bathroom and I ran water from the faucet. She stuck her head under it voluntarily so i begun to use my hands to splash water on her and she loved it! How did she love the blow dryer? I'll never know but she does!

Those are great tips. I'll have to do some thinking on it, and see what I want to do. I'll let you know how it goes....

Pammy - if he does fall into the shower, don't worry about him hating you for it. If he does fall and you scoop him up gently and set him back to safety, he will see it as a rescue, not a mean thing lol. Trust me, Pirate took his fair share of nose dives into the tub while getting used to the shower, and neither he nor our relationship is any worse for wear

I do appreciate that, but I'm not solely worried about Mistletoe disliking me for an unpleasant experience. I'm also afraid he might really get hurt. What if he falls beak first into the tub right while I have a face and head full of shampoo and can't rescue him right away? I know that I worry excessively, but it really isn't that far fetched. That really could happen.
Poor little December, my flightless baby girl who was clipped incorrectly before she came to live with us, takes multiple face plants every single day, sometimes from quite high up in the cage. She lands all the way at the bottom with a loud, sickening crashing thud. She immediately picks herself up and climbs up the cage wall to the top again, but oh, it has to hurt sooooo badly. Poor, poor little girl.

Although Lucy doesn't nose dive, she flys full speed straight into walls sometimes (i have no idea why) and she looks like she may have a little bruise on her beak... But she doesn't complain as of now
