I am so sorry about Riggy. Who would have thunk baby mistletoe could be so vicious.

I know you're just teasing, but seriously Mistletoe isn't acting vicious when he goes after Riggy. It's like he just wants her soooo bad. He wants to play with her, and that little shiny plastic eye was just way too enticing. Diana, I love the story of the Velveteen Rabbit, and Riggy is very, very real. She goes back as far as my own memories do. Riggy's been on Army field training exercises, she went to college, she lived in Germany for 3 years, she's gone to the hospital everytime I have, that's tonsillectomy when I was 9 years old and the births of 5 babies, and she even went to NYC with us at Thanksgiving. Riggy's real.

Yes, so fun, Lisa! My kids and I have a birthday party for Riggy every year on August 16th with balloons and everything. We've done so all my kids' lives, and they have a ball with it. Riggy gives a small gift to each of my kids at the party (because really, what would SHE do with presents to her?), and we eat chocolate cake after singing happy birthday to Riggy. It's so much fun, and my big kids are as into that party as ever they were when they were little. AND -- my mom even hand-makes a cut & glue birthday card and sends it all the way from Michigan in the mail. I have every card she's ever made for Riggy, and will treasure them always. We're a little nutty, but we have a great time.
