That's my sister. Spoiled rotten and doesn't like not getting her way. I think they call it an EXTREMELY RED personality. (I couldn't think of a way to make it more blatantly obvious how extreme it is )

She put him OUTSIDE? Like, with access to the great outdoors? In winter? With wild animals and the ability to fly? You are so lucky to have him right now - if that were my sister I would never speak to her again. Is he acting at all sick after his ordeal?

LOL! Nope, he's acting more needy, but that's probably more because he felt like he had to compete for attention when they were around. He's probably the most stubborn bird I've ever met. Best friend gets mites and an upper respiratory infection and dies hours later - nope, I won't get sick. You have family over - nope, I'm still the most important living thing here. Your family is gone - I'm still the most important living thing here, so you better give me attention.
Yeah, I was SOOOO mad at her. I didn't talk to her the rest of the night. Lucky he's so freaking spoiled rotten that he felt like he was cold and I'd just let him back in.

Oh Bree!!! This is simply horrible!!!! And your dad was right there and let her do such an awful, RUDE and cruel thing? I am flabbergasted, that's all.
I'm so glad Shasta is home, all safe and sound. I don't believe I would be having that sister come back as a houseguest, ever.

My dad wasn't here. My mom was, though. And she gave her a piece of her mind too. As did my brother in law when he found out the next day.
Honestly, I don't think I will let her stay with me either. I told her that when her dog licks me, I don't put her outside. Because it's what animals do. It's part of their instinct. Shasta's instinct is to fly, but when people are around I've trained him so he knows he shouldn't fly. Instead, he flew just enough so he could get to his perch.

wow thats so horrible!! Very lucky Shasta didnt fly away because of your training or get injured/sick outside. I hate it too when I see people not treating animals the right way. Glad to hear Shasta is ok and wants to be ith you more!! When Avo accidentally flew out of our apartment, stupid me, forgot to drop his favourite toy out of our balcony so he doesnt fly away any farther. Alas he did and I was deeply devastated by that one night I couldnt find him..was wondering where my poor brat would sleep/eat. Plus living in the city, there are many cars =(

I'm sorry to hear that Vanillan .... I haven't figured out if Shasta didn't fly away because he likes me or because he knew I would bring him back in where it's warm. Either way, I'm glad he didn't fly away.

Vanillan, I am so amazed and happy for you that Avo came home the next day. You are very fortunate.

i know!! I never expected to see him again and now I know, no matter how much I trust him, I cant trust his adventurous spirit and tendency to be scared easily! I just need to train him quite a bit more I guess.
