Well, I guess I've seen some pinning before but not to the extent we've seen Mondo do it recently combined with her tail way up! It was like she was getting folded up into an upward bird yoga pose! Maybe just really excited that they got to come out earlier in the day than they usually do and without the kids but with just me . Neither wanted to go back in when they were supposed to so I just let them hang out while I put away groceries in the adjoining room. I left the curtain open but they stayed in the playroom. We have curtains drawn over two of the doorways as there are no physical doors leading into the kitchen and family room. They are accustomed to being on in that window area and seem to be content sitting on the play set even with one curtain open wide, especially when there is some heat blowing on their little butts. Hi Saif, No, I was just making a play on words comparing the position to a yoga pose. Wait, are you asking me if it similar to a mating position? Maybe. I don't have a male bird so I don't know if it would be the same. I imagine it would be if the male is on the female's back.

It sounds to me like Mondo wants to mate. My female cockatiel does that when she wants my male budgie to mount her. Perhaps Mondo saw something, or had in her mind something, that could serve as a mate and she was making herself ready. The eye pinning could reflect the concentration to hold the pose.
I don't want this to worry you, in that Mondo also might start laying eggs. My female cockatiel has been doing this for a couple of months and she has never laid an egg.

Hi Diana, Oh boy, I don't need another hen laying eggs! Mondo has been doing the eye pinning and tail up just in the past week or so right after we let her out of her cage. Maybe she is responding to seeing the outdoor birds at the feeders? Egg update: Another egg the other day. I am going to have to call and make an appointment to take Santino in to the avian vet ...
