augmented reality! It was one of things I considered for my thesis but ended up choosing something else instead. I shouldn't have much time for crafts, but I'm spending all my breaks working on stuff for the budgie room. Yesterday I finished the first of Tequila's ladders. So nice to read what you're all up to and nice to know we're forming a community here not just a q&a budgie-related forum.

I think making stuff for the budgie room very much qualifies as Me Time, or a craft or whatever, as does video gaming as a hobby for those that enjoy it. Hobbies come in so many interesting shapes and sizes.
I heartily agree, Kara! Our forum is so much more than a q&a for birds.

I am not doing anything crafty right now. However, I am working on my dulcimer playing.
A year ago I got a custom made mountain dulcimer. My playing has improved since I have had it, and I enjoy it very much. I play traditional songs, primarily from the British Isles, including some tunes composed for the harp by Turlough O'Carolan, a blind Irish harper born in 1670.
The dulcimer is a four string instrument native to the Appalachian Mountains of the United States.
Here is a video I made in November 2013 of me playing "Red is the Rose", a traditonal Irish tune.

Diana, I'm so glad you posted this. How pretty! You play so nicely. I can understand why your birds enjoy you playing your dulcimer. Thanks for sharing!

One of the members of the "band" at my church plays this instrument also! I love the sound it makes! I loved your video. I enjoy listening to that a lot. It's very peaceful

I hope you will play more for us sometimes, Diana, and maybe you could aim the video at your fingers playing the dulcimer. I would like to see it.

Here's another little springtime dress I just finished today. Picture taken with my newly blossomed miniature daffodils. Spring is here!

Thanks, Diana. It's fun to play with color schemes with the changing seasons, and of course my inner child enjoys dressing my dollies and taking their pictures.
