Silver still has a fuzzy babyish look to him. Emma, in comparison, is much more sleek.

He's so cute. I've not seen a comfy perch round swing like that. I like it!

Look at all the rope fun you have in your cage! Looks very fun for your birdies! He's such a cute little one

D'aww. Savor the baby fuzz, the clumsiness. They grow up faster than you can imagine!

He is very babyish and sweet. He hasn't figured out very many maneuvers yet. He is not sure how to get back into the cage when he's up on top. When walking he seems to be more in reverse than in drive. But, he's an assertive little guy. I fed everyone pellets in a round dish a little while ago. Snowy and Pipe were eating. Silver just went over and shoved them out of the way and then stood in the middle of the dish eating. He is more assertive with the budgies than Emma is.

that's weird and funny he's the assertive one and Emma is the passive one I thought females IE my Kylie is LOL the dominate ones in bird world. guess each male makes his who's the ruler of each house. wish Kyba was a little more stand upish though that might bring on fighting LOl it is how it is

I believe with cockatiels the boys are the more dominant ones. The girls are quiter and more passive.

Yes, it is important to remember that budgies and cockatiels are very very different species, not only in appearance but also in behavior and genetics. Cockatiels aren't even in the same family of birds as budgies, who are 'true parrots' while cockatiels have an entire genetic group of their own called Nymphicus. Male cockatiels are dominant where female budgies are in their respective flocks.

Pammy, I check in here pretty much everyday. I just haven't posted. I have been busy with work and life in general. This time of year we have several family birthdays, I did a dog expo this weekend where I had a booth representing poodles. And it is spring, which translate into lots of yard work. I took yesterday off to do yard work and now I have a big pile of green waste to have hauled away

I saw Silver aggressively chase Emma away from the food dish this morning. I guess this is additional evidence that I have a little boy. The poor little guy really can't get any height when he tries to fly. In the morning when the other birds are flying around he just looks at them longingly. His tail feathers were really sad when I btought him home and there has been no improvement. I will try to get a picture and post it later. They stick out in several different directions and are not very long. However, he's so cute I can hardly stand it!

Silver has become very vocal about wanting to be with me. It sounds like he is getting more like Pammy's Mistletoe. His flock call is quite loud!

It's really amazing just how loud the flock call is, especially within the confines of a house. When it goes on for a while it reminds me of an obnoxious alarm - like a fire or tornado drill at school.

Yes, I wake up to the dulcet tones of Pirate calling for me to feed him in the morning each day! It is very worth it to be loved by a little featherball though

I noticed yesterday that Silver has confidently figured out a route from the cage floor to his swing. It involves climbing up the side of the cage, then navigating to two separate perches, then pulling the swing over with his beak. Funny to see him quickly do all this. The swing is his favorite spot.
