I have been in touch with Proboards. They say in order to find out why your IP has been flagged, they need to know what your IP is, so they can check it. You can use this page to find out your IP: www.whatismyip.com/ You can then give it to me and I can post it to the question and interim answer on Proboards, or you can go to Proboards yourself. Here is a link to my posted question with Proboards and their response (asking for your IP): support.proboards.com/thread/505114/member-unable-access-boardIf you cannot get this message by using the link immediately above (i.e., if you get an error message), then you will need to register first with Proboards. That is what I had to do to post the question. It was very quick, and apparently is separate from being registered on our forum. Once you are there, you can find my question from this afternoon called "Member unable to access board." This is in the member support section. I am sorry you are having this trouble, and I really want to help you resolve it.

Hi, Ange. I just went onto Proboards help and added your IP to the support question I put in yesterday.

Ange, was there anything you remember you did just before this started happening? Have you tried a different browser?

Here is the latest message I received from ProBoards Support: ProBoards Admin ProBoard's Yellow Flash Posts: 7,965 1 minute ago QuotePost by Michael Stone on 1 minute ago We're looking for connections of that IP through the forum you posted at the top but aren't seeing any, however we are seeing some through budgerigarsforum.proboards.com. Is the URL at the top the correct one? Are you positive that that IP is correct?

Are you logging on from two different accoounts--for example, home and work computers, and does the problem happen with one only?
This IP on your member profile page is 210.55.212.214. This is different from the one you gave me above.

Wow thats a lot of info Diana, thank you so much for looking into this problem for me This has been happening for a few weeks now, no i dont remember doing anything different before it started. It only does this on this forum, i am a member of two other forums on proboards and it does not do it with those other forums. That message has not come up today so far. I have been able to log on the this forum with no problems so far today. No i only have one computer, at home and only log in on this computer. When i went to the link you posted to find my IP address, the one i gave you was the only one i could see on the page. I used the 'cut & copy' so it is the correct address that was showing on the IP page.

I see you were able to log onto proboards support and message them. I do hope they are able to provide an answer. It is certainly perplexing.

Have you tried using a different browser? sometimes when you download something (really it can be anything) an "antivirus" installs itself on your browser to help you detect "bad" websites or whatever... I've had that problem before, but not specifically with forums. Just like Sarah, I highly recommend Google Chrome too

Here is the last reply I got from Proboards support:
18 hours ago QuotePost by Ricky Zyvoloski on 18 hours ago "They [system administrators] got back to me about it, it looks like the IP address has been flagged for suspicious activity, but not enough to outright block the IP. It's possible that the member's internet service provider assigned them with a new IP address that was recently used for spamming purposes.
"I'm told that they should only see the captcha about once per hour at most, but ultimately to make it go away they would want to contact their internet service provider to see if they can be assigned with a new IP address that has a clean history."
