Where every body is losing birds due to escaping...my jingaling escapee through the hole on the vision nest box as the cap fell off....her brother escaped last year got him back though. So I released Bo to go get her.......he did now both are back with their partners. Once I put her back i taped the cap on I never did like vision nest boxes....i still dont. Neither is tame either. It pays to have a big close flock where everybirdy know everybirdy.

Clip the wings, better safe than sorry trust me! Unless u wanna feel my pain and regret lol Sorry but birds are meant to fly. I know my birds and trust them to return every escapee ive had did return. Plus right now theres a flood warning in effect what if something happened she would drop and drown. If it got that bad. My birds are happy flighted I haven't clipped my birds in years....if I wanted something that couldnt fly id get mice.. clipping them is like taking away a persons licences...would you want to walk to every destination?

I didn't see the green one at first. Really blends into the tree. That 3rd photo is a great one!

They dont escape because u have a very large flock in an outdoor aviary and a very large area around without any buildings or roads cars etc.... if they were in any noisy suburb, i wouldnt be this sure they would stay with u if u would free them... parakeets are not like pigeons to remember their nests (they dont have magnetic field in their brain) so they can return back if free.. ur birds stay around because of the other chirps and food in aviary... unless they are very very tame, but still id doubt it... anyways there different point of views for clipping or not... a clipped parakeet is the same lifestyle as clipped or not... flying shorter distances instead of large ones doesnt affect their happiness... ur presence around does make them happy... anyways u r a breeder with enough experience... i have experience only for few tamed budgies which if with opened window they will never return home in a noisy suburb area... if i was in a farm like u id talk different probably But still I miss Mikah who probably died out in the cold and starving for food... Consequences of not having his wings clipped.

Consequences of not having his wings clipped. They stay within a radius of a mile. Ive took my tiel to a buzy area two hours from me and he still heard me. Their flock birds they wont stray far from their flock.....I have quite allot of trees by me. My birds are happy flighted plus clipped birds cant mate successfully. And your bird probably was found by someone else that kept him instead of returning it. If I found a budgie I wouldn't return it....finders keepers.
