You probably remember my problems with Emma being very hand shy and not stepping up.
Well, this morning she ended up on the floor and was calling for me. Despite the face that she doesn't like being on the floor (and I don't really allow the birds down there), she would never step up onto my hand. The only way I could get her up was to offer her a wicker basket to perch on.
This morning I tried again offering my hand, palm down and flat on the floor. To my astonishment, she stepped up! Yay, Emma. Once we got to a reasonable height, she jumped over to the cage.

You are so patient. Congrats on another win with Emma. I have clipped Pearls wings. I feel bad for her because she loved flying. She now will step up on my finger and I am able to put her back in the cage. But without flight she can't really go anywhere. Silly stubborn bird.

I'm glad you are having an easier time with Pearl.
Emma is still very reticent with me. I've had her for eight months now. I really don't think she likes me very much. But, I think she is happy otherwise
At the moment, Piper is chasing Emma all around the cage. But she's like, "Not now, honey, I have a headache!"
I'm very lucky with Silver. He's a great bird.
I made them some new toys a coupe of days ago. I got some colorful 2 inch vine balls from the internet. I threaded them on twine and hung them in the cage so they were about 3-4 inches below the perches. They've been having a great time pulling them up with their feet and beak, then chewing them up.

I am sorry you don't think Emma likes you ver much. I guess that is the beauty of hand fed, they learn from enfancy that we are their friend. Cute toy idea. My birds very rarely play with toys.

Ten days later, Emma seems comfortable most of the time getting onto the back of my hand when she ends up on the floor. She will also come to my arm readiiy for sunflower seeds, as long as she doesn't have to compete with the other birds. I'm almost feeling that she is starting to like me a little bit.
