This morning i woke up at around 10:30 and went into the living room to switch the bird's food/water and found Kiwi at the bottom of the cage dead. Face down. I flipped him over to make sure he was dead and then started crying/screaming. My mom said earlier that morning he was being his normal self screeching and squaking all morning long. I watched him eat and drink the day before and he even sat on my hand. Yesterday he had watery poop but i thought nothing of it because i was busy and it was one poop and he seemed healthy everyway else. I examined his body and found blood on one eye and under the beak but it could have been mineral block to. I dont know what happened he was perfectly healthy hours before! We buried him next to his buddie Blue that died because he had an overgrown beak when we got him and by the time we noticed it was to late! We are probably going to get another one to make our flock even but idk yet

Really sorry for your loss. It does seem that birds really succceed at hiding certain illness even from their careful owners

It feels so unreal. It's so hard realize that he is gone. I keep checking on my three counting them like I always do but wondering where the 4 th one is and then remembering. Worst day of my life

It's hard to deal with the loss of a beloved bird. I am very sorry you are going through this. It would be so much easier if they could tell us something is wrong. I do think it would be nice to get a fourth bird to even out your flock. You have just had a bit of bad luck. Don't fall into thinking there is something you could have done. These things just happen. Best wishes

Oh, I'm so sorry, Fayth. So hard and so sad.
I hate to say it, but since your parents have such a dislike for your birds, I would advise not getting anymore. Adding a 4th bird back in will not make your family like them better, and will definitely add to whatever it is they don't like about your birds. I also suggest that you maybe try extra hard with tidying up around their cage and keeping their home nice and neat, so that will be one thing your parents don't need to feel upset about, or feel like they need to be on your case about. I'm sorry you're going through such a hard time.
