Oh yikes I actually didn't know that, Sarah! I saw one at the bird fair and it was a BEAUTIFUL green one. It looked forever grumpy which made it kind of cute and was definitely bigger than the other American budgies in a cage next to it. In the future, I either want two English budgies, two American budgies or a pair of love birds...or a pair of parrotlets. There is so much time so I don't have to jump on anything but I see more birds in my future. Would you suggest expanding my budgie flock, or is there another bird species you like, Sarah? (granted, not the LOUD ones...!)

Changing the subject just real quick while Sarah is on...So what colors would Bubble's and Whisper's offspring be? Vibrant like dad's...or pale like mom's? I don't think it's been answered yet.

You would most likely get vibrant colors, but you have a shot at some pale ones in the mix, depending on the family tree of your Daddy bird Also, if you'd like a bird with all the good qualities of the English budgie and fewer health risks, I really suggest reading up on the lineolated or 'linnie' parakeet. They are a seriously adorable species, with cute gooney faces and bright colors. They are also very easy to tame, mild mannered, and are usually quieter than budgies. They can scream if you neglect them, but I know you won't, and they don't chatter very much, but pick up human speech very well. They are also some of the cuddliest birds out there: they are known for liking to snuggle under chins, hide under hair or even crawl into sweatshirt pockets to snooze! All this with an average lifespan of 10 years, and an expected lifespan around 15

SOLD! They look like little parrotlets! I've never seen a linnie parakeet before! I'll definitely have to do some research.

Their diet is more or less identical to a healthy budgie diet, although they are slightly larger and will require a proportionally larger diet. They are also more than usually prone to... plumpness XD And so exercise is very important to them.

Lol, I am moving it into the "what bird is right for me" discussion. I had to move it chunk by chunk XD Hopefully it makes a little more sense now

Yes it does XD
I looked up Linnies...and even if I wanted one, I'd have to pay for shipping (which is fine, but I don't like the idea of shipping a bird in a possible stressful environment and one that I've never met.

Well, when you told me your husband was looking for a flashy bird, I thought that the rainbow lorikeet would be a much better choice for you. However, I want other people to be able to read this and consider Linnies for themselves
