Good luck!! It's very exciting to move into your own place!
Do you think that one of the things you may do in your own home is to separate your two bird cages into different parts of your house? Or do you suppose that would result in constant screaming from the birds to each other?

Thanks, I'm excited but don't want to get too excited. I will be loads when I actually get the keys to it Well, I would like to do something, there is a basement so I might try one up and one down. Hopefully the flock calls aren't to frequent. It is quite funny though (well not really lol), when I move Tweets and Sonny about 3 feet away on the sofa, Tweets goes crazy flock calling and they all join in. There is a shed in the back, would be great for an aviary but with a bit of work. We shall see.

Oh, too bad. I'm sure you will find the right thing soon, though. I was so happy when I found my house, and I am so happy living here. It took a long time to find something I could afford that is in a quiet area. Of course, then I filled my living room with noisy birds LOL.

Ha ha, yea. I went and looked at a house today, She has two budgies. The male looked exactly like Tweets and the female was a little bit lighter blue. They were so cute. ha ha, Funny how I find them cute when I have my own. Probably just too many that I can't seem to enjoy.

I keep taking pictures of the beautiful birds at the petstores. I don't want another one, but I can't seem to help myself

I know how both of you feel. I have been debating on whether or not to get two more budgies (female this time) to give Shasta and Orion some company, especially since Orion seems to be wanting to bully Shasta.

Yea, and I would just feel bad for rehoming them. I was the dumb one to get all of them. I would just probably take them back to the pet store, might be a lot safer than a private party.
The other thing is I don't know which to get rid of, I would like to keep maybe 2 but which 2? Do I just get rid of the problem child? Do I just keep the original pair I first got? Will building an aviary help at all? I don't know, so many things to think about, all these things that go through my mind, some days I can't stand them at all. I know that is a bad thing to say but the truth is, I don't enjoy them majority of the time. And with me, just because I stop enjoying them doesn't mean I need to get rid of them. Pets are for life. One of my former friend was like that and it made me sad. I don't want to be that person too.
I truly do hope that my sister takes at least one, hopefully Tweets, when I move out. But I think all 6 of them has ruined it for her.

You know, I kinda disagree with the "pets are for life" philosophy. You said you don't enjoy your birds most of the time. That's really not fair to either them or to you. Surely there is a better answer than that. I do feel you should research a new home for them thoroughly before just letting them go any old where, but keeping them when you don't really want them just doesn't make sense. They can probably even sense your annoyance with them. I would certainly let them go to new homes in at least groups of two, so they will have an old friend and feel less afraid.
You won't get any judgments from me if you decide to find loving homes for some of your birds. You deserve to be happy, and so do your budgies. I'm sure there is a correct fit somewhere.

I was talking to my neighbor who took Snowy. He is doing well there. Things have gotten better with my flock with just the three of them. Sometimes I get a twinge of missing him. But, I do think it was for the best.

How many birds would your mom's friend be interested in having? I think 4 is the absolute limit for me. It's working out real well. The only way I think I'd ever want more than 4 is if mine had babies. Then of course I would want to keep them.

Well, I just messaged her and she said she would take all of them. I am thinking of maybe keeping two or three but I don't know which three :\ Tweets loves Luna, Luna loves Tweets for a little while. Sonny hasn't really bonded with anybody but Tweets Tweetles is a bully, maybe she needs the space. Dakota and Teeki are bonded but would want a male companion. I think Dakota is my favorite. lol Tweets is my problem child because he wants to be with Luna. Maybe keep Tweets and Sonny? Would that stop the flock calls? Should I rehome all of them and then not worry about it? Last I knew, she had three males and 2 females. There were two pairs bonded. I would want to keep Dakota and Teeki with Sonny but Sonny tried to mount Teeki today. She does have a pretty big aviary. I could keep Dakota and Teeki, Tweets and Sonny. Idk, please help me, any input will be appreciated. I have until Monday night to decide. I guess I could get rid of two and see how the 4 will do with noise level and see if she can get the others at a later date. So many options. I could also keep Dakota and Tweets and breed them when I build my aviary but I would have to keep them seperated

If Dakota is your favorite, you might want to keep him, and if he is bonded with Teeki, that seems like a good fit. I'm afraid you're going to have to decide what is best for you overall. If more than 2 is too much, then stick with 2. It's wonderful they have a place to go that you could keep an ear out for how they are doing. I can tell you that 2 can be a very manageable amount of noise...depending on the pair!

Very true, I wanted to try with just 4 and see how that will work. I think I could always rehome 2 more with her, she probably wont care lol I will ask her
In other news, I think I will put in an offer for a house.
