We got our new cockatiel today <3 (s)he is the cutest and sweetest thing ever! Its really cool to have a bird that steps up on command and likes human contact! (s)he is a Pearl cockatiel. We arent sure of the gender but we are secretly hoping male. Ill post pictures ASAP she is 9 weeks and was handfed

I got her from someone whos girlfriend bought her for him but he was moving across the country and could take him with him, and that Ladies and gents is why you dont buy pets as gifts She came from a breeder that hand fed her.

I'm so happy that you are enjoying your cockatiel. Silver is a male pearl. He started losing his pearls at about 6 months old. He is friendly and tame, as yours is. It's wonderful when they like you and want to be with you.

Awe! I dont know if he/she is male or female yet but im hoping male. How can you form a bond with her? and how can you tell if he or she was handfed and the age?

Offer her treats when she steps up and when she comes over to you. Sunflower seeds or millet are good for that.
