Was waiting for my budgies water bottles to empty so I can clean them and give them the pink stuff.....the pink stuff is medication for giardia. Even though my birds don't have it I like to prevent from ever getting it. It looks like koolaid. My boys went right for it for their drinks. Can't taste that bad. They should be good for that until spring.

Awesome! I wish more people took preventative care for their pets I originally got it because I thought one of my budgies had it as she had a plucked chest she ended up passing away so mies well make use of it. |

Its a type of parasite Giardia make them lose feathers by plucking usually under the wings and stuff. |

Would it be wise to treat my birds or yearly checkups okay? Ideally they are suppose to get treated twice a year. Either one would work if your vet knows what to look for. |

I guess one cannot just give them Kool Aid (LOL).
What medication do you use? Can you get it without an Rx?
I definitely want to keep my birdies healthy.

Invermectin only treats scaly face and air sac mites. Scaly face occurs on the outside. Giardia is a parasite thats on the inside. Which causes them to pluck. |
