I bought a new perch at petco today and walked out thinking, hmm, my life has changed. Never before would I have been excited to be buying a seven dollar stick. I also never thought I'd think of bood poop in my hair as awesome progress! Hahah. Just thought I'd share some of my bird owning joy/humor with you all.

Today I went on Amazon.com and bought a comfy perch, a tabletop perch, a swing, a silo feeder, a toothbrushing kit for my cat and some Nutriberries. Nothing for myself. Nothing is too good for my babies. It really is pretty funny.

Yes, Luvs. But, then, you have to have a saw to cut it into pieces. Or is there another way? I am curious.

This perch was a grape vine with twists and turns, knots, bumps, and neat textures. I like the more natural perches rather than dowels, but thanks for the tip! I've made some out of tree branches from home for free too but I couldn't resist the odd shape of this 7 dollar one. So far Willow is afraid of it.

I loved those branches from Petco but also thought they were expensive. We ended up buying the metal screw and other metal piece and had my hubby make me my own branches xD it's fun finding cool looking branches to use too.

Emilyjean,
I'm sure they'll adjust to the new perch in no time. Everytime I introduce something new into my boys' cage they act like it's kryptonite! A while ago I got them them a spiffy manzilla perch (i think that's the wood, forgive me, i'm on my second glass of wine!) and it took them about 2 days to even go near it. I think Budgies, being intelligent birds, are very cautious.

Manzanita Manzilla sounds like a new threat to Tokyo lol, but I know what you meant. That wood makes for beautiful perches The knotted and convoluted wood makes for a perch, a toy, and brain stimulation all at the same time. If you can find little crooks and holes in it to hide treats in, they love to forage in it
