Oh, me too, Emily! I'm great at keeping kids, birds and fishes alive a thriving, but plants? I look at them and they whither away. The only thing I can think is that I overwater them. Even a Christmas poinsettia doesn't last more than 2 weeks at my house. Seriously. I've tried more water. I've tried less water. I've tried putting them under the heating vent. I've tried moving them away from the heating vent. Every year my sweet hubby buys me one, and every year it's dead before we get to December 15th.
But the wheatgrass is in the windowsill. We'll see what happens....

Poinsettia is a desert plant, so it needs to be warm: 65 is a minimum and 70 is better. You also only want to water when the top of the soil feels dry. Also, never leave a plant in standing water. No water in the tray under the plant.

I will try again this year. Poinsettias are so lovely, and so Christmasy. I hope the poor thing makes it in my care. Cold isn't a problem here. Our heater is set at 73*F and it's freezing to us. Thick socks, sweatshirts....
I'm certain overwatering is my problem. I will force myself to be more stingy with the drinks.
