So, since the time has changed, Tweets and sometimes Luna likes to wake me up around 7am, earliest is 6:45, now I don't mind this on the weekday because, well I am up around then for work. Another story is on the weekend, I love to sleep in and it's hard to because i hear flock calling from either bird and its a bit annoying. I am wondering what I can do to prevent this (besides moving them), I have a black blanket I cover them with.

This is a bit tricky. Is the room quiet until you wake up? If it's completely dark and quiet I'm not sure what's waking them up other than the potential biological clock.

I don't know why they're chirping if the cage is covered. My budgies don't start chirping until the cover is off. I would find it annoying too .

Mine also do not make a peep until I uncover them :/ I wonder what is causing them to wake up

Luvs it sounds like tweets is like Kyba in the morning he got use to me uncovering the cage usually around 7:30amish. now with the time change he's already stiring by 630amish even though its still dark. but he has gotten better with the change though he's actually waiting til 7:30amish time change unless the people above me start to make a lot of noise on the way out.

Is your blanket covering all faces of the cage? Is it light in color or see through?

My poor budgies don't get to go to bed until 10:00, because that's when I send all my noisy teenagers to bed on school nights. They seem to be doing okay, though, and the kids are real good and quiet getting ready in the morning.

I suppose try to stretch them another hour before bed, Luvs? That way they can still get a full 12 hour sleep but it'll carry an hour when you're ready to wake up

Are they supposed to get a FULL12 hours? Mine get about 10, but they also take naps during the day.

I'm not sure if they NEED 12 hours, I've just decided to do that since I have a female cockatiel and male and female budgies. I don't want anyone thinking it's breeding time anytime soon XD

My budgies love to sleep just as much as I do which is awesome, I cover them at 7 pm and uncover them just before leaving to school at 7 am, and the days my schedule allows me to leave later (tuesday and friday), I uncover them at 7 but they are still all quiet and sleepy until like 9 am, and same on weekends, they don't make a sound while covered, I can say I'm really lucky hahaha... I remember one night it was like 2 am and they started flying wildly in their cage, I woke up all startled! I went to check them because I thought maybe there was a bug or something bothering them, but no, they were fine, I still don't know what happened...
