I'm stumped... I told my mum that it may be better to buy a hand tamed budgie instead of breeding mine, and she said "I've already told you- NO MORE PETS!" Then I reply but then I said, "If I breed them I'll end up with about five anyways..." then she said- "I said NO!" I say- "But...." Mum- "No!" I need some tips from "the mums\moms here... PWEEEEEEASE! She said she doesn't want me having more pets because, since I'm moving into my 1st year of high school (=D) she wants to see how I'm going in high school first before I get more, but my animal family is so small! I only have a lizard, a dog and 2 budgies! please help!!

Bluebirds, you should respect your mother's wishes. Four pets are quite a few, particularly because many people your age are not allowed any. Take the time to enjoy your animals and take good care of them. If you spend too much time worrying about what you don't have, you won't enjoy the pets right in front of you. I would let this go. If you are still really wanting another bird down the line, ask her again after your first term or two into high school and work very hard to do well so that she will be impressed. If your mom says no, there is probably a good reason. They don't generally say no just to be annoying or mean.

Yeah, Blue, we mamas love to be nice and don't enjoy saying no. We have to say no when we think it's for the best, and almost always have sound reasons for saying no. I can promise you that nagging will not get her to feel more cuddly about getting another pet. Like Sarah suggested, study hard. Show your mum that you care about your grades and your education. Four pets is a lot. Enjoy them!

Maybe your mum is really interested in the breeding process and looks forward to watching you raise the cute little babies! Has she stipulated whether you will be allowed to keep the babies, or is your breeding Mango and Casper only okay if you agree to find new homes for the babies?
