Look who was on my finger for 15 mins. She was out for 2 hour and 30 mins. She is still afraid of my other hand,but we will work on that. She trusting me more and more. She let me touch her belly and her feet,but not the back or head. She is learning so fast. She let me kiss her on the beak. She is so cute. She look at me silly. I am so proud of her What think so far everyone? She will be 4 month tomorrow. She is molten too. She stared yesterday.     I love my parakeet.  |

I almost hate to start the debate all back up again, but golly, I still say Olivia looks like a boy to me. That sure is a lovely pinky-purple cere.

Wonderful! And soooo beautiful!! I almost hate to start the debate all back up again, but golly, I still say Olivia looks like a boy to me. That sure is a lovely pinky-purple cere. Its still to young to tell but I look at the care and she has a light blue/white with Tan Cere. I read here, Budgies are sexually dimorphic in only one way: the cere. The ceres of young budgies under 8-12 months are all about the same: a bright pink or violet color. As the budgie sexually matures, the cere changes according to the budgie's sex. She under 8 months she 3 months. |

It's not true that all baby budgies have pinky-purple ceres. That's the boys. Baby girls have a milky light blue with white rings around their nostrils.

what I mean is the light blue is taking over the violet color. Witch I thought was wired.

To me, that looks like a boy, but either way, you have a gorgeous little birdie there, and I'm so happy for you that you are coming along so well with your hand taming. |
