Well I took the seed out of the cage and put in mashed up spinach and strawberry, mashed also. After 4 hours will put seed back in. I did however put some seeds in the bowl. I am using a different bowl but did put it near where the other one would be. I am figuring the instincts of the bird will let her find the food.

Strawberry mush with seeds in it is a great start and a favorite technique of mine: using a sweet and juicy fruit like that will cover the seeds in juice, so when the budgie inevitably starts picking the seeds out of the dish, she will taste the juice on the outside and realize its good

She did not eat much, but was suprised she picked at the seeds in the spinach over the strawberries. More of the same tomorrow.

I've been trying different flavors of baby foods for mine, today was mango with one or two other fruits and Clyde LOVES it!

Ooh, I'll have to try the mango. My budgies were not impressed with baby food peaches, although I think they're delicious. I tried peas yesterday and they both said YUCK! Butternut squash went down a little easier today, but they don't love it. They continue to love carrots and sweet potatoes best. I'd really like to get some fresh greens into these boys, but they want nothing to do with that. Hopefully I can find some growing wheatgrass, like Diana did.

Pammy my local Petco has organic wheat grass for $6. I was going to get some but then decided against it last minute (I am afraid since they don't eat veggies, they won't care about wheat grass)

I found wheatgrass at PetsMart in the city tonight! I got it home too late for upsetting the apple cart right at bedtime, but I am so eager to stick it in there tomorrow and see what happens!

Shy little Clausy jumped right up into it, and started rubbing his face all in it in obvious delight. Made my heart sing to see Claus so happy. I'm curious to see when they will eat some.

Now I'm really going to have to try it! And Pammy, the baby food was apples, mango, and kiwi flavored. It was all 3 in one that Clyde loved!
