I haven't had the heart to take him out of his cage. He still seems to be uncomfortable even when I open the door. Today, I had some millet in the palm my hand and he jumped on and ate! Unfortunately, the doorbell rang and scared him away. Will this upset my hard work and progress? I'm so worried. He still flock calls me and he tried to fly to me to me today I think (though is little feet were met with cage bars). His chirping today was quite crazy! He seemed either agitated or excited and was bobbing his head. I wish I didn't have to ask so many questiins, but I know you guys are so knowledgeable. Advice? Thanks in advance ladies and gentlemen!

It shouldn't don't worry. When you have time just offer him millet again. He's still calling you and wants to be with you, so there shouldn't be any problems. Well done for the progress though!

Head bobbing is a sign of being happy. Remember 2 steps forward and one step back is still one forward.

Yep, head bobbing is a sure sign of happiness. And please don't ever feel silly or awkward for having so many questions. Sharing experiences with one another is one of the main reasons we have this forum.

I feel so blessed. Thanks for the great replies everyone! I would like to say that progress was NOT upset by what happened last night. If anytying, it seems like my skittles want more time with me than ever before. We play hide and seek together and my bird seems to LOVE it! Lol btw I keep calling my bird a he, but I'm really not sure! I've tried to take better pictures, but since I haven't been able to take my bird out of the cage yet, it's hard to get a good one!

Also, he perched on my finger and let me pet him while in his cage for about 12 minutes lol! I think I got super lucky in getting a baby without even knowing it at the time!!

12 minutes is a really long time for perching and petting a new bird! Yay, you!!
Try opening the cage door and aiming your camera through the opening. This will at least eliminate having bars between the camera and your budgie.

I will try to get a better picture later on today! My sweet bird's personality is finally coming out! He's really so funny to watch sometimes. Still not very interested in his toys, but he LOVES to play hide and see with me! He jumps to the bottom of his cage and hides behind his bowls or perch and waits for me to look him in the eye. Then he runs around just chirping and nodding away! Do any of your birds make sort or a no no or question mark head movement? Is that the same movement? He did that today but I've no idea what it means. I do know that he was quite happy when he was doing it. I haven't found anything about that on the internet! Thanks so much for the awesome responses guys!!!!!

Don't worry about his lack of interest in his toys. That's natural. He will eventually warm up to them. Even budgies who have been in your home for a long time might take several weeks to accept a new toy.

Budgies often cock their heads to one side when they are very interested in something they are hearing.
