Feeling shy in the beginning -- A little closer -- Fast friends! That didn't take long.

In the last pic, the two budgies that are next to each other (I'm assuming it's Kringle and one of the new girls) look like they're twitterpated. (Name the reference!)

Aww. Any signs of budding romance between Clausy and Noel?

Come on Clausy! I'm rooting for you! Sing to Noel and let her know just how pretty serious is.

So cute! Who is December and who is Mistletoe? Who is newer? Can you tell me what type of toys you have hanging? are they disks of wood with sisal tied in between - the toys look fun.

I keep hoping, and watching for young love, Sarah & Emily. So far, Noel will sometimes shyly join Clausy at whatever feeding station he is visiting. It's the cutest thing. He sometimes gets too shy and leaves, and other times stays and they have a dinner date for a few minutes. Kringle & December are completely in love and do not like to be separated for even a moment. When one of my kids takes December out of the cage, they call to each other, and Kringle flies in big swoops around the room until he lands on the shoulder or head of the kid who took off with his girl. He's been waiting his whole life to meet this little lady.
This noontime, Theresa (one of my daughters) took both Noel & December out of the cage and put them on her shoulder and walked around the living room. BOTH Kringle & Clausy came out on the "front porch" curved comfy perch I set up right outside the top front door (copying Diana's idea) and called to the girls on the shoulder transport. I found it very interesting that Clausy wanted them to come back, too.
Santino, thank you for your compliments. I got my two boys, Kringle & Claus (affectionately called Clausy) in August. I adopted them as adult re-homed birds. They are likely around 3 years old, and are pictured with their names in my "signature" shown beneath each of my posts. Just a few days ago, I got my pretty little girl birds, Noel & December, for Christmas presents from my hubby. Noel is the green one, and December is the more violet-blue of the blue birds, with the white face. They are around 5-6 months old. Mistletoe is my baby cockatiel (or "papatiel" as my 4-year-old son says) who I don't exactly have just yet, but have been waiting for since he was an egg in late September. He is now weaned, and we are going to adopt him and bring him home in just two more days! He is also pictured in my signature below with his brothers, but is much older than that now. I will be overloading the forum with pics of him once he's home!
As for the toys, the wooden discs on sisal rope are a toy called "birdie kabob" and can be found in Petco and PetsMart stores, online pet stores like Petco and Drs Foster&Smith, and even on Amazon. My budgies LOVE them. Budgies need to be able to chew things up, and that's the purpose of birdie kabobs. They have lasted a long time for my budgies, and I anticipate going through them a bit faster once my baby cockatiel gets here. The spiraled colorful rope is called a "comfy perch" and has a wire inside of it so it can be twisted into different shapes of your choosing. My budgies really like it a lot, and you can find those at the same stores I listed for the birdie kabobs. Other toys you see in the pictures are some Christmas ones I bought from Drs Foster&Smith online, and they have some left on clearance, or did as of yesterday. My budgies like to stuff their faces into the little bundle of green threads and they enjoy ringing the vertically hanging red and green bells. My boys have not been ones to play with toys much at all, but they did ring those bells multiple times throughout the past month, and toy playing has gone up dramatically since my girl budgies moved in.
I hope you have fun choosing some toys for your cage.

We have a smaller comfy perch and other toys. My son likes to switch in/out their toys and perches almost every time the newspaper gets changed to keep them interested. However, our hens are not terribly interested in noisy toys. I think I'll try the kebab and find a rope toy to gnaw on. Maybe the boys are trying to impress the girls with their musical talent!

Found the bird kebabs. Are they the small or original size?

Mine are the smaller ones. I don't remember whether they were labeled small or mini.
Luvs, I explained that in another thread. In a nutshell, the only room it works to keep birds in my house is the main living area. Kringle & Clausy have their cage open all day, and visiting the girls on the outside of their cage nullifies any reason for quarantining. Also, disease travels thru heating vents in the house anyway. I made a personal choice not to do quarantine, and announced to everyone that's it's still recommended to quarantine if you can pull it off.

Kenny, mine will get really agitated when somebody is back at the cage flock calling. December will call back to Kringle. Kringle flies out and swoops madly around the living room until poor flightless December takes a stumbling, fumbling attempt to get back to the cage. One of us then helps her out and gets her home. Then Kringle gets back there just as fast as he can and scuttles super close to his girl and acts as though he hasn't seen her for hours. Clausy hasn't done anymore flock calling, and Noel never says a word.
