I'm going to get the exact hatch date when i go back (i missed out on that detail with Lucy). He's young. Not weaned yet, but in about 4 days the owner said he'll be okay. He's already rejecting the "baby food". Also, he said he won't go home until he sees him start eating carrots and other veggies. So i'm taking that as a plus And no he isn't DNA sexed... This is what i wanted to tell you guys! Thee owner did this thing that i've like seen in movies but never in person. It's some sort of stone that's attached to a silver chain. If it is a girl, it spins in circles. If it's a boy it swings side to side. It sounds crazy (and i agree) but i have heard it before. He guarantees genders so if he is wrong, i'll get a full refund, or another bird. If i want a DNA he will only charge me $20 I know it sounds absolutely crazy but in my eyes.. Worst come to worst... I get my money back

He is marked beautifully. I am happy for you. Forgive me but... Pregnant women used that system, pre ultra sounds, to determine the sex of there babies with a 50% accuracy rate. If your boy is a girl do you really think six months from now you will be able to part with him/her. Maybe you should still do a DNA test.

Hehe no but i would get the money i'm paying for Lucy back so she would be free. DNA here is cheaper than where I got Lucy so I could still do it

Wait, its get the male bird you want or keep the female AND get your money back? I have no idea what i even just said. This is what work does to me! What i meant to say, is he guarantees his genders. So he is guaranteeing me it is a male. When and if i pay for DNA, if it comes back otherwise, he will refund me all my money (and i keep the bird) or i can "exchange" for another bird. It sounds awful to "exchange" (which i would not do anyway) but he says he's comfortable saying it because he has always been right. He's been doing it for 40 years so i mean if he is that comfortable about it, it's almost positive it's true. I mean regardless even if it ends up another girl, she's free. But he is guaranteeing me a male

Oh boy, I have to agree with Roxhum on the 50% accuracy of this sexing method. I am flabbergasted that this man will refund the money and let you keep the bird if it's female. I have to wonder if he already DNA'd all of his babies and then did the ring on a chain thing. That would certainly help out with his status of "never being wrong." Well, sorry to be so negative. What an angel baby! So much like my precious Mistletoe!! You are going to have soooo much fun with him! I can't wait to hear all about how Lucy accepts him, and see pictures of them together.

That's what I think - he DNA tested them all. But who knows
