I was wondering if feeding roudybush the instructions say no need for mineral block of cuttle bone. If your using this do you still have the block and bone in the cage.

I leave both in my cage, too. I see no evidence of anyone ever touching the mineral block, but the cuttlebones in both cages have been scraped up here and there.

Well the crumbles were delivered today. They look a little like cheerios smashed, so hoping she goes for them fast. I mixed equal amount of seeds, 1 tbs each. I will do a week like this and work her off the seeds for the most part.

It is not advisable to give the birds any kind of mandatory vitamin supplement while they are eating a pellet diet. The pellets are meant to have everything they need in that department for the day, and putting an additional food or water supplement can cause them to overdose on necessary vitamins. However, I see no reason to remove elective sources, like a block and a cuttlebone. Your bird will most likely not seek them out much on the pellet diet, and only if her body tells her she is really in need of something.

We do not do any supplements, but I will leave the block and bone in.

When I first got the mineral block, Emma was chewing on it every day! Now, not so much.

Presumably she was a bit malnourished in some departments at first, after being at the pet store
