Hi, I am roxhum from the other forum. I haven't been able to complete my registration yet, I need my big computer, I am on a tablet. I still wanted to post. I got my two baby boys last July and have been aware that their previously trimmed flight feathers were growing in. Yesterday morning they were out and Kermit fluttered to the floor. I left him because I was preparing breakfast. When I went to get him he had managed to "fly" back onto his cage. When I walked into the room he flew across the room! I felt like a proud mama. It is just a matter of time before Sky takes flight. With a little bit of luck they will jump on my finger to be returned to their cage when free time is over, otherwise I would need to limit their freedom.

Aww! I also wish I could keep my budgies wings long but they are not tamed enough. I really think it would be cool if they could just fly onto my shoulder whenever they want and fly back to their cage I'm glad you came over Roxum!

I love watching any bird fly. I decided not to clip Lucky's wings and will let her out in a parakeet friendly room.

Agree, Santa. Kringle & Claus' flights have grown back, and I just cannot bear to cut them again. I've found that for me, taming (or the lack thereof) has nothing to do with whether my birds can fly. This may not be true for everyone, but it's true for me.

Sadly Luvs, that's too true. And I've found that mine can scramble away from me without flight almost as efficiently as they can with flight. But when they do get on my finger or my hand, or if Kringle allows a short ride on my shoulder, I feel all the more successful knowing he could fly away if he wanted to.

Santa, I would say Lucky is a very lucky budgie.
