This is where Mistletoe hangs out while I'm cleaning up the kitchen: And here he is after getting some water time in the cleaned-out sink after dishes: Cute, wet baby

Thank you all! He is so adorable! Yes, the angel does stay there the whole time I'm doing dishes and wiping down the counters, stovetop and microwave. He's a good boy, and he wants to be with me. Before I clean the kitchen, I feed my fishes. Mistletoe sits on my shoulder while we feed and admire the beautiful fish.

Mistletoe lives with the budgies now, Diana. He does get a great deal of time each day away from the cage and away from the budgies. In fact, he is currently parked on my chest, entertaining himself with the buttons on my shirt. All is going well. No problems whatsoever. No squabbling, not really much interaction between the species at all. They will sometimes eat together, but he doesn't yet play with the budgies or touch them at all, nor they him. He clearly chooses the humans as his flock, with me as his very bestest friend in all the world. I have 3 different feeding stations and 3 water bottles throughout the cage, and no one ever chases anyone else from eating or drinking. I feel tremendously fortunate.

Oh what a little doll! I wish Pirate would perch patiently and watch me go about my business. He always wants to be in physical contact with me, which while sweet also hampers day to day jobs. You try picking up the room, vacuuming or doing the laundry with a monkey tiel man trying to peek at your face while swinging down off the top of your head by your hair! XD

You are lucky it's working with them all sharing a cage.

Yes, I am lucky. It's pretty nice only having to clean one cage, too. Plus with the sheer size of my flight cage, having Mistletoe's private cage on top was just way too big. I needed help covering the whole works every night, and even a king-sized sheet was too small. This is working out very well, but I am keeping careful watch. If the time comes that someone is mean to anybody else, I will step in and be a protector. For now, it's wonderful having all five birds in the same cage. I think it helps that Mistletoe and our female budgies are all so young. They will grow up being comfortable in one another's presence. And Kringle & Clausy have been amazingly flexible and good-natured about all of the changes these last six weeks. They just seem perpetually happy, those two. At this moment, all four budgies are napping, scattered throughout the top half of the cage, and Mistletoe has crawled on top of the cage and is eating his veggies that are up there. I see a pea dangling from his beak. Him loves peas. Mistletoe does perch for me very nicely and patiently while I do my kitchen chores. If I take too long though, or if I attempt to move farther away, like to switch the laundry or tidy the living room, then he gets antsy and crawls or flies down to the floor and runs to his mama and starts climbing up my leg until I help him out and get him to my shoulder. So I do know how all that monkey business feels. Sometimes we have to go back to the cage so I can accomplish the rest of my chores. But when we are talking strictly dishes, my little buddy does wait for me on that little playground. I would like to get him a bigger one as soon as I can save for it.
