Hello guys! I was looking earlier at some pictures of playgrounds/gyms for budgies and I thought "oh look, I got half of all those materials here..." I came up with the idea of making a little space for my budgies to play, I got the wooden sticks, cardboard and swings and stuff, you know, I could make ladders and a few toys with all that, but I'm a little concerned about the way I'm going to put it all together, I was wondering if any of you know what kind of glue is safe to use? I was thinking maybe I should just try to make the joints with thread or something like that, and not using glue at all, but if I needed to use it, what would you recommend? I normally use this kind of glue when I need to make mockups for school projects (yeah it's really fun studying graphic design ) Do you know if it's safe for budgies?

I have no recommendation, I can't take my eyes of Leelo & Poki preening each other in your signature. That is so awesome, and they are beautiful.

I have seen some pictures where people have used plumbing pipes (Pecks?) These are white and, I have read, easy to cut. You can put them together like Tinkertoys. Anyone remember Tinkertoys?

Thank you roxhum! I avoided glues, and no, I don't remember tinkertoys haha, the only thing that came to my mind were LEGO, I don't even know why! I used a thin thread and the smallest nails I found in my tool drawer to make the joints, anyway I think I finished for today, I'd like to add some bells or some other shiny or noisy things for them to play with , here are some photos of how it looks right now. The materials I used are: Wooden sticks A piece of corrugated plastic sheet for the base Nails Thread A piece of red ribbon (knoted to make it more fun lol) A little bell Clear fishing line (only to hang the bell) 2 swings And that's it I'm dying to let them out to play! I really really hope they like it.

Hahaha thank you so much! If only I was sure this thing could stand a trip to another country, I'd definitely make some for you guys I actually made it in about 1 hour and a half, I guess we can all agree that something so simple can't last long haha, the good thing is that I can fix it if something falls or whatever hahah I hope my babies enjoy it plenty before it starts to fall apart xD Poki noticed the cage open, he's deciding if getting out or not, I'm so excited! Edit: Nevermind, he's back on his perch.

Fantastic, Perla! Your budgies are wonderfully lucky!! I remember Tinker Toys! They were great! My dad could make incredible constructions with them. We also had an erector set and Lincoln Logs. I remember my dad once making a fully functional Ferris wheel out of Tinker Toys when I was a little girl. Haven't thought of that in years. Wish I had a picture. But wait, I do have a picture - a very clear picture in my memory. Aww, I see my dad with dark hair, sitting criss-cross on the living room floor.
