My new budgie, Nova, will not move from her food dish! Every single time i look over she is in/on her food dish! We are getting a whole bunch of toys and stuff today (Hoping it will keep her away from her food dish for a bit!

It's not unusual at all for a budgie to pick a spot and refuse to leave it for the first several days at home. She'll calm down and adjust. Remember to expect strange behavior from your budgie for the first month or so. Just remember the danger signs of illness: Shaking, puffed up feathers, sitting on the bottom of the cage and diarrhea, everything else is pretty much just your bird needing time to get used to things. Some budgies cling to the top of the cage and won't come down for a week!

I wouldn't worry. Some loose stools are just a sign of stress. I'd only be concerned if she were actually soiling her feathers and having crusty stuff stick.

I am sure Nova is perfectly fine, especially with such a loving mamma to watch her for any danger signs

I am sure Nova is perfectly fine, especially with such a loving mamma to watch her for any danger signs She is earning my trust!! Today I was putting some toys into her cage and she jumped out and was hoping around the floor (her wings are clipped) she is tried picking her up because I don't think have her on the floor would end well! I was just about to grab her when she jumped on my hand and sat on it! I didn't move because I didn't want to frighten her! So about 20 seconds later she jumped off my hand and started to hop around again until I finally caught her! Then I proceeded to put toys on her cage and she did it again. Lol my sneaky little bugger

No, males will feed, dance, headbob and try to do anything to impress the ladies. It's kind of like their mating ritual. Usually we try to quarantine a new bird for 30 days, that way your birds will not get infected by the new bird.
