I think that its great that you are seeking some help, and I also hope it is an easy fix. Thank you for being brave enough to share this with us, and with your doctor

Pammy, I am a diabetic on an pump and I am very resistant to insulin. Exercise is the magic pill so to say. As far as all the meds affecting you, remember with out them life could be much worse. PM me if you ever need to talk to another that has many of the issuses you do.
I was in a support group a while back that helped people with related health issues.

Have the whole family go out for a walk, just make at least 30 mins a day, just add it to your routine. There are times I do not want to walk but I do anyway and I feel better. It also helps to get away from the birds and everything h ah a

Wow! I didn't know about the vitamin D. I'm wondering if I've ever been checked for that. Exercise is a good antidepressant. When I was fifty I started ice skating and did it three times a week it was great for my mood. Unfortunately, I had to stop five years ago because of fractures.

I don't actually have diabetes yet. I had gestational diabetes when I was expecting Natey. Right now I am not diabetic, but my body has to work very hard to produce enough insulin. My doctor told me that eventually, my pancreas will throw up it hands and announce that it's had enough and can no longer work so hard. I'm on a medication for insulin resistance that should help my poor pancreas to not have to work so hard. He told me yesterday that even the Diabetic Association wants doctors to put patients on this medicine to hopefully ward off diabetes for as long as possible.
I do need to get my act in gear with exercise. Blah.

Don't think of it as exercise. I didn't. I thought of it as "me" time. Like time to think by myself. I walked but not power walked. It was very leisurely. I enjoyed it very much

Pammy, I spent 18 months in Iraq and after I came home I was depressed for several years. Even though two very different reasons for being sad, I think once everything chemically gets balanced the suggestions here are great. Getting out and hiking and walking did as much for me as anything else. Even if I didn't feel like getting out, once in motion I always felt better. The other thing I suggest is to do what you are already doing. Just being able to talk freely and openly about how I was feeling really let me know that other people were not only aware of my depression but were concerned and cared. I suggest talking openly even with your kiddos. They are very aware when something is bothering us adults and may think they could be the cause or piling on worries. I don't know you but from being on this board, but I know you are a caring person with a big heart. Talk with your doctor and get as physically healthy as you can be and the rest will come.

Dear Dcalton: It sounds like you were in the military, or a company supporting the military. If so, I want to thank you for your service. I have never done anything that difficult.

Many thanks to you all. It is helpful to talk about it. You guys are great!
I'm thrilled to meet another former soldier! I also served in the Army for six years as a reservist, but activated during Desert Storm. I served in Saudi Arabia in 1991.
I was also an Army wife after that, while my husband served active duty for six years. Three of those years we lived in Germany.

How did you manage to stay stationed at the same place for nearly six years?
My husband was stationed in Graf for 3 years. We and our babies lived on post. Two of our babies were born in the Eschenbach Krankenhaus. Aron got deployed from there to Albania/Kosovo, and so for 7 of the hardest months of my life, I lived in Germany alone with 4 babies ages 4, 3, 1 and newborn. I consider that to be the time in my life I proved to myself just how strong I am -- even far more so than when I served as a soldier myself in Saudi Arabia. Gotta hand it to Army wives. That's a TOUGH job!
