I am realizing that I have forgotten a lot about how to play.
I was playing with Silver for a little while. I realized that playing with a bird can be a lot by playing with a baby.
So, I played a game with him where I asked him if he'd let me touch his nose. Then I would approach with my finger. As it got close, he beaked it, and I took it away. Then, I did the whole thing all over again: asking him, moving the finger, taking it away when he beaks it. So, he gradually let it get closer and closer before he would beak it. I was thinking about how I used to do that with my baby: let her know something was going to happen, and then play with how long it took the thing to actually happen.
I'm also realizing that I had to change "she" to "he" and "her" to "him" all over the last paragraph. Why do I keep calling Silver a she?

I think it's possible that since you were remembering playing that game with your daughter when she was a baby, your mind just said she. Is Silver doing any whistling, other than the flock calling? Oh, Diana, you've got to go into your profile and add Silver's name to your list of who you are Mama to.

Pirate's favorite game as a baby was 'toss,' or that's what I'd call it. I'd offer him something, a ring or a q-tip or something of that nature, and he would pick it up, turn it over and then toss it up in the air and wait for me to offer it to him again
