Poki was out on the playground, and he flew to the top of the cage where I keep Leelo, she climbed to the top and bit Poki's little foot :/ I heard him sceraming and trying to fly away from her but he couldn't, I could see Leelo biting him really hard, I ran to pick him up but he was scared and flew back to the playground, that's when I saw he was lifting his leg with his foot curled up I picked him up again and looked if he was bleeding, fortunately, he wasn't, but his middle finger is all red and has a small hole where Leelo buried her beak Is there anything I should do? :/ Clean his foot or something like that? It doesn't look that bad, but I can see it hurts

Oh, no ! How distressing to have Leelo attacking her mate Poki! Would Poki let you hold him and you can put some hydrogen peroxide on the open wound to cleanse it? It wouldn't sting like alcohol. It sounds like it would heal on its own unless he can't put any weight on the foot at all. Give him overnight to recover from the shock and pain from the bite and let us know he is doing. Cherry

Thank you Cherry, I cleaned his up foot with just a cotton and water, I hadn't thought about the hydrogen thingy, I got a bottle somewhere... Thankfully he's letting me hold him, I've had him on my hand for about ten minutes now, he seem calm I'm gonna put some of that thing on the wound, I hope it doesn't hurt

Hydrogen peroxide will not hurt, alcohol will! I use the stuff on my kids' wounds all the time so they would tell me if it stung or not.

It sounds like you really need to keep him competely separate from Leelo. I am sorry you and Poki are going thru this.

Poor little guy. Is he the one caring for the babies now?

Yeah he's taking care of them now, he's been such a loving daddy! He goes all crazy when the three of them get hungry and start crying for food, but he manages to feed them all very quickly haha

aww, that is a bummer Tweetles did that to TWeets but he recovered within a few mins. I would limit her daylight hours to at least 13 hours a day, feed low fat diet and probably switch the cage up, like once a week

He is very good his leg looks perfect and he is all happy as usual Leelo is such an angry bird though I don't know how long that will last, I'd love her to be around Poki and the babies but she get's so mad when Poki gets near her!

Not really, her cere looks kinda blue now(it was fully white before that) with white around the nostrils, i don't think she is in breeding condition, i took the nest away as soon as the last baby left it, which was last tuesday (or monday?) so leelo hasnt seen it since then, but still, when poki is out to stretch his wings, leelo starts screaming when he gets near her, and tries to bite him through the cage bars
