I have had new neighbors across the street for a little while now. Today the man (Don) called to me as I was getting out of the car and asked me about my birds. He said he could hear that one of them is a cockatiel, but couldn't tell what the other was. So, I invited him in to see my flock.
I had been away most of the day, so the birdies didn't have out of cage time this morning, which they were Quite Unhappy and Vocal about LOL.
So, I let them out. I got out the sunflower seeds, and everyone came to my arm, nice as you please. Then, Emma just sat there on my arm, looking very pretty and intelligent, while I told my neighbor about how I got the various birds. Meanwhile, Silver retreated to the top of the cage, staring at the wall. Had no interest in saying Hi to me or Don.
Turns out Don and his wife have had two cockatiels in the past. One lived for fifteen years, the other for twelve years. They want to get another, and I told them about Bird Jungle, where I got Silver.
It was so interesting to discover that we have a common interest.
It was also interesting to see Emma behaving so well.

What a great story! Sounds like you may have made some new friends. How very pleasant of Emma to act so cordially during the visit.
