Thanks! Yes, they are really huge! They were so tiny when I got each of them. It's been so fun watching them grow and become so big and healthy over the past few years.

Beautiful tank! I love that piece of wood decor you have. I've been looking for a good one that isn't too pricey for mine for... I don't even know how long!

Thank you! I probably bought that wooden piece 10 years ago, at PetsMart in Traverse City, Michigan. I recall that it was whopping expensive, but I'm glad I bought it. My fishes and I have enjoyed it for a long time.

Beautiful tank. I used to have them when I was in high school. How much work is it to maintain?

Not too bad, Diana, if I keep after it. I scrape down the inside of the front glass with an old credit card to keep it crystal clear, but have decided to let the algae grow on the sides and back. It's green and soft and goes with all my live and plastic (I have both) greenery and my two plecos like to suck it. I also do regular 20% water changes while vacuuming the thin layer of gravel, and have had good luck with very healthy fishes.
I sit in front of the tank for a good while every morning and every night, feeding my fishes. I love make sure everybody is present and accounted for, and healthy-looking. They've grown so much and are really doing beautifully well. They are well worth the effort, but it truly isn't that much work when it's done regularly - now if I were to slack off and let it get bad, it would be a big job to clean up.

I do that too Pammy! Its so relaxing for me to sit down and feed my fish, watching them all. I also make sure I spot every one each evening

Thank you, Saif. How's your turtle doing? I've had a great experience with keeping healthy, beautiful fish that stay alive (after some disasters in the beginning when I didn't know what I was doing). The thing I can't keep alive is a vegetable garden. I do okay with my flower garden, but not the veggies. It's a dismal failure every summer. Next year I think I'm going to try an herb garden, and just get my produce at the store.

Pammy, it's probably not your fault it's probably the soil. Veggies don't do well in a certain pH range of soils. (I only know this from my dad). There's several things you can do to fix the problem, if that's what it is!
