Pammy they make these magnet scrubbers that make it super easy to clean the inside walls of the tank. I LOVE mine and then I don't scare the pants right off my fish xD but then I have guppies

I use a... shower... poof.... thing? to clean algae of the glass of my tanks. It works unbelievably well, but you have to get a new one that has never been exposed to soaps.

Emily, my fishybabes are used to me sticking my arms down into their tank, and act completely comfortable when I'm cleaning. Some of them will even swim up to me and "kiss" my fingers, hand and arm. It's an adorable feeling.
Sarah, a new shower scrubby is a fantastic idea. And Emily, I'm glad to hear the magnet thingies work well. The credit card scrapes the glass clean, but is a lot of sweat-breaking work that is terribly hard on my wrists.

The shower poof thingy takes no effort at all. It's really a breeze. You should give it a shot

I like how we are using 'thingy' as a word that means many different... Thingies lol. The scrubber magnet part stays inside of the tank and you drag the other magnet part on the outside. It's pretty easy if you don't always want your hands wet, but I can totally understand if you want your little fish to give you kisses hehe. We have two types of fish that bite so those kind of kisses never happen xD

Here is part of my beautiful school of neons. They add so much to my tank!

That is very pretty! I like that neons are tiny but with a LOT of color. They dart around and it looks so pretty Danios too. I like zebra danios. They're pretty cool too!

I also like zebra danios, but because I keep my tank filled all the way to the top and danios are tippy-top dwellers, I would hardly ever get to see them. I know this because I had a small school of zebra danios years ago. The same is true of guppies. My pink kissers are the top dwelling-est fishes I have, but they don't skim the top all of the time. They just stay near the top - except for one silly kisser who thinks he's a clown loach and hangs with them at the bottom during feeding times.

Pammy, great set up! I love watching fish too. That's a nice big tank to have to allow your fish to grow to a nice size. Is that a orange/gold angelfish? I've never seen one without the stripes. Huge catfish too. Do your birds find it interesting too?

Thanks, Cherry! It brings me much joy and relaxation. Yes, my biggest gold angelfish has turned almost an orange color. He is exceptionally beautiful. Even just this past Monday night, when my Rachel was home for the evening, she commented that he's orange now, and he's HUGE. I don't remember how long I've had him. I have 3 other gold angels that have also grown to a good size just since fall when I got them. I bought two more adorable, tiny gold angels at Petco on Friday. I love the yellow ones! I always choose ones that have no black or gray marks on them at all, when I'm looking at the gold ones. I do have two angels that are silver and black striped and one that is an oddball with gray tones (she seems to be my gigantic yellow's mate) and they are all lovely. Next time you are in Petco or PetsMart, look into the angel tank. The little guys who are a pale whitish yellow will deepen in yellow intensity as they grow.
We moved my fish tank into our kitchen a few months ago because with the flight cage, our living room was beginning to resemble a Petco. I am very happy we moved it! I spend way more time looking into it and enjoying it now that it's not competing with the birds. Morning and night I pull up a chair and feed my fishes and count them all and look them over for illness or injury, and just watch them for a good, long while. My late-night fish gazing time happens after my birds have been put to bed, but during the morning feeding, Natey sits on my lap, and Mistletoe sits on my shoulder. Mistletoe doesn't seem to care about the fish, but he loves to be with me, and he just sits there and grinds his little beak in my ear while I spend time with my fishes. Thank you for asking.

I can't wait until I have my own house so I can get a big, beautiful tank like yours. I like gouramis. specifically sunrise (or sunset - i can never remember which one) and gold gouramis! I also like tiger barbs, and rosy barbs. Ciclids are so very beautiful but they're so very aggressive and I would be doing a community tank, not an aggressive one!
