I don't know really. I had the names Pip and Pepper come to mind and no matter what other names I looked at, Pepper stuck. It's just her, her personality and look.
It also doesn't hurt that Pepper is Iron Man's lady!

It's so nice you are all so interested.
I called this morning and asked the pet store to reserve the cockatiel and the budgie for me. Last night I ordered a larger cage, which will arrive Thursday. It's not the same one Pammy has (I like that one, but I wanted one that was further up from the floor, because of the cats). It is on wheels and is about 31" x 21" x 35" high. The stand is 25" off the floor.
I plan to put the two new birds in the new cage and move Piper and Snowy in after the quarantine.
I am Really Excited!

I can't wait to see the mutation of the 'tiel! Sarah, I bought a cockatiel magazine from petco the other day, and in it there are aeveral pictures of the same cockatiel - it's all black. What is that called?! I have never seen it before and I absolutely love it

I went to visit Emma (the cockatiel) this afternoon. When I got close to the cage she hissed at me. However, I spent about five minutes talking to her and she calmed down and started closing her eyes. I told her she's going to get a bigger cage soon and will be able to fly around. I plan to go every day so that when I get her home I will be a little bit familiar to her. I thought today's visit went well.
Emma is mostly gray, with some light yellow on her head and a light yellow headdress. She has orange cheek patches. I kind of think she looks like Lucy.
I think she will be coming home with me Friday or Saturday, after I get the cage put together. The young man who bred her is going to be working Friday afternoon, so that might be a good time to go and get her.

Have no fear about the hissing! On the day I was able to take Pepper home, she was the only cockatiel to hiss at me. As you have seen it has not effected our relationship I CANT wait to see Emma. If she looks like Lucy but has Grey instead of a brown cinnamony color, she may be a Pearl mutation.

So does Emma have the pearling pattern or a more over all solid color? If she has like white/yellow lining on her feathers, she's a pearl

Very exciting, Diana, and such a good idea to visit Emma everyday until you get to bring her home. Then you won't be a perfect stranger to her.
How was Sunny looking?
