My daughter has landed safely in New York! She is now being fitted for her Macy's Great American Marching Band uniform!! They are red and white. If you are interested in following the posted pictures of this weeklong event, "Like" Macy's Great American Marching Band on FB. Such an exciting time for my girl! Her daddy and I will be flying to NYC on Tuesday! Theresa and I are both sick with a yucky sore throat/cold mess. We sure could use prayers, good thoughts, healing vibes, etc., sent in our behalf. We've been building up to this once-in-a-lifetime experience since May, and it's sad to be sick for it.

Luvs, my daughter will be there for a whole week, but her daddy and I will fly out on Tuesday and back home on Friday, with just two real days there in NYC - Wednesday and Thanksgiving Day. Then Saturday, we will have our belated Thanksgiving here at home with all of our kids.

It's nice you are coming to the Big Apple! I live about 70 miles from NY City. I don't get down there much. I hope you enjoy the visit.

I've been a few times, but I am such a small farming town girl I found the whole thing intimidating and... loud. I had many wonderful memories there, but I find my self missing the clean mountain air and looking forward to my home before too long

I'm sure it will be overwhelming to me as well, but I'm very excited and I'll only be there for two days, so I won't really have a chance to get tired of it and need to be home. Plus there will be the excitement of the parade, and Christmas will be in the air.

I'm very close to NYC. I've always wanted to go to the parade. Maybe next year I may go to the city next weekend to see the tree though. Pammy maybe I'll bump into you! (Kidding - way too chaotic there!)

That would be so fun, Lisa! Of course I will be flying back to Oklahoma on Friday, so I will no longer be there when they do the tree lighting.
I'm flying out of Dallas tomorrow morning. Boatloads of flights are being cancelled today due to ice. Texans do NOT do ice. I hope all will go well! And I'm still sick. Boo!
