I am OH SO happy that I do NOT have to chase Kyba and Kylie around at night to get them back in their cage when its time to go to sleep. They are both back in the it by 7pm on their own and usually harping at me to cover it up LOL the easy life of 2 open cage life budgies and their owner LOL Serious loving enjoying easy street with both my babies

Mine don't get to go to bed until 10:00, because of my noisy houseful, but Kringle & Clausy are always back in their cage, ready and waiting by bedtime. Never a chase&capture session required before night-night, thank goodness. My little guys aren't nearly as tame as I would like, but I sure can't complain about how easy they are.

When Mango is ready to go to bed she goes back to her cage and eats a bit and preens and then jumps up on her swing and grinds her beak. Thats my cue to cover her up and close the cage door for the night! One night I accidently fell asleep on the couch and i woke up to Mango sitting on the rope perch outside her cage doing the mad hen squawk at me trying to wake me up! Obviously she was ready for bed. LOL!

I had a chase and capture session with Emma last night. I was hoping she would get on a perch, but she wouldn't. I turned off all the lights and was able to shoo her back into the cage, without grabbing. I think she will get the idea. She naps a lot during the day, so she's wide awake at night.

Oh boy! Do you mean that Emma is wide awake at bedtime, or that she is wide awake all throughout the nighttime hours?

She's wide awake at bedtime. At least, she was last night LOL. Once I cover the cages, I don't hear anything from Emma, Piper, or Snowy until I uncover them in the morning. BTW, I am finding Emma MUCH quieter than the budgies!

Even though boy tiels are more loud and talkative than females, i still think he will be more quiet than the budgies. Mostly because budgies are constantly chattering whether loud or what i think of as "whispering". A cockatiel isn't really making noises 24-7. At least not Lucy. Bonnie and Clyde don't shut up from the time i uncover the cage to the time they get covered!

WOW I must bee the luckiest budgie owner because mine are really quiet they only chatter back and forth now and then and most of that is Kylie but its hardly ever loud no louder than the tv usually. If she gets to fussy Kyba goes over to her and tells her to quiet down cause we are watching tv. if she's with me n kyba she's so silent until she gets bored flies off but still relatively quiet. I'm so so OH SO glad mine are not loud at all my family n friends are shocked as to how quiet they are even if they want attention they both know what to do and just come over to me on the couch or follow me around when I get up to do something LOL

That's true of Piper and Snowy. They are constantly chirping, chattering, squabbling, and (sometimes) billing and cooing.
Right now they are fighting over one of the swings in their cage. I may have to take that one out until I get a second one just like it.
Oh, a few seconds later and the swing is now old news. Now they are fighting over the top spot on the boing.
Remember how I used to write about how much they loved each other?
Oh, there you go, now they are billing and cooing again.

There's never a quiet moment with mine! I need to record them one day soon. They're on the floor below me when i'm in my bedroom but i hear them from up here! It doesn't annoy me though i love the sounds birds make (even when they scream at each other)! It's when all 3 of my dogs howl at the fire station alarm thing that drives me crazy... It's definitely an experience to hear LOL

My boys chatter a whole lot. Sometimes they work themselves into a real racket. Then they take a nap and are as silent as can be.
I really, really want to get two females and see how the dynamic between these two changes.
