Yes, I use Roudybush for my pellets and am very happy with them. Still looking for the rights seeds for me and mine,

Luvs, that does look like a good one to me (not that I really know). Unfortunately, it's 40 pounds and $67 plus whatever the shipping costs are. I can't drop $67 on seeds all at one time, and it would take my birds an eternity to eat up 40 pounds. Surely they'd get awfully stale during that time. Too bad we don't all live close together and could buy a bag and split it up.

Pammy, there are smaller bags of the same seed available on their website. The smallest bag was $11 for 4 pounds I think.

Well, unless some live in the same town, we'd still have to pay postage to farm it out to everybody.
Oh! I didn't see that. Cool! I'll have to look it over....

I give Lucy very few seeds. I just buy what I do get from the local pet store. She has learned to like veggies and fruit. We are still working on what she likes but she eats most of what I give her. I add to that the crumbles.
I am missing something in not giving her many seeds? I know some say seeds are like a Child eating pasta and I never met a Doctor that told me to feed more white flour products to my Children.

I've been giving Shasta more seeds than normal lately because it's been so cold here and my apartment complex has a bad habit of turning off all the heating during the day when everyone's at work.

From what I have learned so far, veggies and fruits are best and should make up the bulk of our caged birds' diets. They also need either pellets or seeds or perhaps a mixture of both. Pellets are lower fat and therefore a better choice for birds who don't get much exercise. If a caged bird gets lots of opportunities to fly around and get exercise, a little bit of seeds should be okay.
It's exciting and encouraging that Lucky is learning to eat pretty much anything you give her.
My birds are doing better and better with eating their veggies, too. I sprinkle seeds and a few Cheerios on their veggies everyday and they almost always polish off the entire plate of food. I also keep pellets in the cage at all times and they pick at that here and there. I made the mistake of wanting to give my birds variety with the pellets and in addition to the Roudybush crumbles I know they like, I decided to buy them a bag of nibbles and a bag of mini pellets. That turned out to be a waste of money because none of my birds care at all for the nibbles or the minis. They only like the crumbles.
